TENTATIVE PREDICTION OF SOME GEOLOGICAL PROBLEMS FROM A PLATE TECTONIC PERSPECTIVE

From a plate-tectonic point of view, the strata pteviously assigned to the Carboniferous and Permian and the Variscan ultrabasic rocks and Permian pillow basalts in the vicinity of Jishishan Mt. at the southern margin of the Eastern Kunlun Mountains are predicted as belonging to the Triassic and an ophiolite suite,respectively.This prediction has been confirmed by field surveys.
