Metallogenic epoch of the Aoyoute copper deposit in Dong Ujimqin Banner, Inner Mongolia

    • The Aoyoute copper deposit located in Dong Ujimqin Banner of eastern Inner Mongolia is one of the most typical depos-its along the Erlian-Dong Ujimqin Banner metallogenic belt. The deposit lies in a suite of Jurassic continental volcanic rocks and sub-volcanic rocks. The country rocks are mainly composed of volcanic breccia, conglomeratic ignimbrite, rhyolite and rhyolite por-phyry. Choosing the ore-bearing quartz vein which is closest to the mineralization in the deposit, the authors performed dating with the quartz 40Ar/39Ar method. The results show that the metallogenic epoch of the Aoyoute copper deposit is 187.11±3.50Ma.
