THE DISCOVERY OF MICROPALEOPHYTES IN THE YANGLINGPSEPHYTE IN SOUTHWESTERN JIANGXI AND ITS AGE

    • Many fossil micropaleophytes and chitinozoans were collected for the first time froni inter-calations of the Yangling psephyte in southwestern Jiangxi, Which furnishes strong evidencefor assigning the age of the Yangling psephyte to Late Cambrian-Early Ordovician. Mean-while, the Yangling psephyte whose connotation was originally ambiguous and vague has beenredefined , and it is regarded as a formal formation-rank lithostratigraphic unit.
