Thrusting structures in Huaqiao-Dajiangkou area, western Hunan

In the Huaqiao-Dajiangkou area, there are developed a series of imbricated thrust nappes on the foreland faulted belt northwest of the collision zone between the northwestern and central Hunan terrains. These nappes characterized by a double thrusting were thrusted to the northwest. The present paper deals with the basic characteristics of the structures and their control and effect on the formation and evolution of the Mesozoic red continental basin in this area.
