NEW RECOGNITION OF THE FOZILING GROUP IN THE EASTERN PART OF NORTHERN HUAIYANG

By using the tectono-stratigraphic method and through 1:50000 regional geological mapping, the Foziling Group of the low-grade metamorphic rock series in the eastern part of northern Huaiyang is divided in ascending order into the Zhengtangzhi, Duling, Xiangyunzhai, Huanglonggang, Badaojian, Zhufo’ an and Panjialing Rock Formations. The whole rock series belongs to a foldedlayered stratigraphic system; forming a composite superimposed syncline with the Panjialing Rock Formation as the core. The rock series is of CarboniferousPermian age. ＆ ccording to its characteristic lithologic assemblage, it may correspond to the Shujiahe Group and Xinyang Group in Henau.
