    Sedimentary environment of dinosaur tracks from the Cretaceous Jiaguan Formation in Qijiang, Chongqing

    • 摘要: 重庆綦江莲花保寨保存有大量以莲花卡利尔足迹为主的恐龙足迹,研究其沉积环境对恢复当时恐龙动物群的生活环境有着十分重要的意义。运用岩石学、沉积学和古生物学方法,通过岩石学特征、沉积构造特征、粒度分布特征等分析重庆綦江莲花保寨恐龙足迹群的沉积环境,认为当时的沉积环境为曲流河沉积,恐龙足迹的赋存层位为曲流河边滩和河漫滩环境。

       

      Abstract: A large number of dinosaur tracks which are mainly Caririchnium lotus have been preserved in the Lotus Fortress of Qijiang, Chongqing. The study of their sedimentary environment is highly important for reconstructing the living environment of dinosaur fauna. On the basis of petrology, sedimentology and paleobiology and by means of petrologic features, sedimentary structure characteristics and grain size distribution, the authors analyzed the sedimentary environment of the dinosaur tracks form Lotus Fortress of Qijiang, Chongqing. There was a meandering river here and the dinosaur tracks were formed in a point bar and flood plain environment.
