Abstract: The basic feature of the tectonic framework in the Sui Zao area,Hubei,is the south directed multi level thrusting detachment of the upper crust.The Liulin,Hongqing and Dahongshan overthrusts together with the deep level detachments form the south pointed wedge shaped thin skin structure.The thrust system is characterized by backpack expansion.The multi level nappe tectonic framework was complicated by cutting and destruction due to late stage high angle fracturing,and the tectonic framework was finalized in the Yanshanian.
