四川省綦江县观音桥奥陶—志留系界线时限的研究

    STUDY OF THE AGE OF THE ORDOVICIAN-SILURIAN BOUNDARY IN GUANYINQIAO, QIJIANG, SICHUAN

    • 摘要: 本文介绍了四川省綦江县观音桥地区,奥陶—志留系界线的研究历史和不同意见,描述了龙马溪组底部及观音桥组地层及古生物情况,并对作者所采集12件全岩样品的铷—锶分析结果,以及所取得的等时线年龄值—439±18Ma的可靠性,作了详细的论证。作者认为这一年龄值代表了观音桥组的成岩作用时代,亦即奥陶纪与志留纪二者的时间界线。

       

      Abstract: The Guanyinqiao Formation, lying between the Glyptograptus persculptus zone at the base of the Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation and the Paraort- hograptus-Diceratograptus mirus at the top of the Upper Ordovician Wufeng Formation, yields an abundance of fossils of the Hirnantia fauna. It repre- sents the range of the Diplograptus bohemicus zone. The formation confor- mably overlies the Longmaxi Formation and underlies the Wufeng Formation. Samples for dating were collected from the Quanyinqiao Formation and the base of the Longmaxi Formation, the sampling thickness being 1.1 m. The whole-rock Rb-Sr isochron dating indicates that the data points fit in well with a straight 1ine whose 87Sr/86Sr initial value is 0. 7095±0. 0005 and isochron age 439±18Ma (95% creditability). This age va1ue agrees well with that for the Silurian-Ordovician boundary commonly used by geologists in the world. Problems about the false isochron line and the duality mixing system are also discussed in this paper.
